| MyNetFone offers VoIP for iPhone, Android and Symbian Posted: 24 Oct 2010 06:24 PM PDT By Stuart Corner VoIP service provider MyNetFone (ASX: MNF) is to launch a mobile VoIP service for iPhone, Android and Symbian users. The company describes the move as "a strategically significant milestone to MyNetFone" and claims that its mobile VoIP service stands apart from others in its superior quality, ease of use and feature richness. According to MyNetFone technical director, Rene Sugo, "We have really cool, nifty features such as conversation recording and voice tunnel technology, which are a 'nice to have' bonus." The conversation recording feature allows the user to record all or part of a conversation for later playback and automatically notifies the calling party that they are being recorded. Other features include integrated contacts from the phone, loudspeaker, favourites, call status and last calls logs. MyNetFone claims that the app can work from blocked areas or from behind firewalls for both incoming and outgoing calls. The App is available at no charge from the Apple iStore and users can either register it to their existing MyNetFone VoIP account or choose from one of MyNetFone's standard VoIP plans. MyNetFone claims that "unlike some other apps on the market, once the free app is downloaded, there are no registration fees and no ongoing fees for the use of the app. Customers only pay for their VoIP plan, or on a 'per call' basis if they select the $0 per month plan." It is available in English, Chinese, Czech, Danish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Slovenian and Spanish. It is said to require iOS 3.1 or later. However information on the app store says it will also work on first generation iPhones and iPods if upgraded to OS 2.2.1. The app had been available since 18 October when iTWire checked on 25 October and had attracted ten reviews, all of which had given it a five star rating.
